Breast Lumps
The first thing of course is to check out with your GP that it is nothing sinister.
Secondly, if it is just mastitis, if you tackle it nutritionally – it is likely to respond to Magnesium,
Zinc, Vitamin B6 and Nicotinamide.
Thirdly, it often seems to be linked to an allergy, usually gluten or cow’s milk. (See Section on Allergies).
Fourthly, to go really whacky, but cheap and effective, wear cabbage leaves inside the bra. Particularly
if you are breast feeding, I am told this is magic.
With anything hormonal – or actually in any circumstances – you are better off without the Pill. I would
get in touch with Colleen Norman and learn about Natural Family Planning as soon as possible.
Aloe Vera gel is another wonderfully soothing and inflammation reducing substance. Worth applying
if you are not breast feeding. I would get advice from the makers if you are. However,
I suppose some could possibly get through to the milk.
I have been told honey, but this seems to me to be such an impossibly sticky and uncontainable situation…
However, it would at least be compatible with breast feeding, so I will pass it on… Perhaps inside the
cabbage leaves … over to you!
One last thought is, it may also be worth checking out for a genito-urinary infection at the GUI Clinic.
Some of these can tickle up the ovaries and make them over-react. Too much ovarian activity can affect
the breast tissue (over-egging the hormonal pudding as it were). So it would not hurt to go in for a quick check-up.
If they find some bugs lurking around they may suggest antibiotics but, especially if you are breast feeding,
this may not be a very good idea, so I would then visit a homeopath or ring up Ainsworth Homeopathic Chemist for
a remedy.
