Electromagnetic Pollution

At Foresight we started to learn about electromagnetism in the early 90’s. Since then the hazards have probably increased and will continue to do so. ‘Electrosmog’ is something you cannot really see, hear or smell, so it is difficult to detect.

Nevertheless it can be a valid reason for headaches, dizziness, sleeplessness, fatigue, depression and we now know - ovarian failure and low sperm count. Questions also lie over cancer, leukemia, chromosomal defects in babies, miscarriages and cot death.

So how do we detect it, and avoid it? Luckily there are some good people working out solutions for us.

Firstly we can get an expert to visit our house and do a geopathic survey, or in some cases we can borrow the instruments and do it ourselves.

There is a small appliance called an ‘Acousticom’ which can be hired from Powerwatch which buzzes when you locate a ‘danger zone’. This is a helpful start. I would borrow one of these, as it may surprise you what a lot of ‘electrosmog’ you live amongst. I also feel that if we had to live with this unseen noise we would not choose to have half the electrical equipment we currently ‘think’ we need in our homes!

Wi-fi and mobile phones can be particularly hazardous, as can microwaves that leak! (It’s not really worth having a microwave anyway, as the food cooked in one has no nutritional value left).

Carrying a mobile phone in the trouser pocket has been linked to low sperm count/immotile sperm, so do not let your husband - do whatever it takes to stop him. In the long run it can even lead to testicular cancer. This information is a powerful motivator.

It is worth going around the house holding the ‘Acousticom’ next to everything electrical. A slight buzz is not a problem. The louder it gets the more powerful is the ‘leak’. If you find one of your gadgets is quite ‘noisy’ it is better not to use it in the three month run up to pregnancy and in the first three months of the conception.

The experts’ advice is not to stand for a long time near a cooker or washing machine that is switched on. However, I guess how easy that is may depend on the layout of your kitchen!

However, one aspect of advice does seem to make sense – avoid wearing a bra that has a metal strip ie underwire bras. These can act as ‘passive antennae’ we are told, when you are using a mobile phone or a hair dryer. I fear there may be a link with breast cancer there, although I am not aware of any research.

For later when baby has arrived – remember that the cordless baby moniter is not safe. Powerwatch recommends that only the low band (35 – 50 MHz) is used. This is vitally important as the ones that pulse have been linked to cot deaths.

Apart from all the domestic uses of electricity, there are also sources of rogue electricity from underground. Usually from the banks of underground rivers or from cracks in the substrata, usually where it is granite. If you have had a miscarriage or if there has been a case of cancer in the house it is worth calling in a geophysicist to look into this for you.
