Premature Birth
« Back to index
If you are reading this because you have previously had a premature baby, I feel for you so much. I know what an agony this can be. Sometimes it ends in tragedy,
sometimes in a little person with a lot of challenges ahead. Many times, thankfully, with dedicated loving care, a little person pulls through and goes forward to a
normal and joyful life.
Often, I believe, so many prayers have been said, and such a special love has been received that they emerge with a very unique and responsive personality.
Whatever your experience has been, we will do all we can to make the next birth a happier and less anxious time.
Premature arrival can be caused by a number of different factors, but lack of the essential element zinc, and too much of the element copper, can be an important and frequent cause.
You will see in our Research Section, the work of Professor Bert Vallee of the Harvard University Medical School in the USA, working with experimental animals.
He found that in pregnancy, the vital factor was the level of copper in relationship to the level of zinc.
According to the work of Dr. Carl Pfieffer, of the Brain Bio Centre of Princeton, New Jersey, the ratio of Zinc to Copper in the blood should be 17:1.
However, due to the introduction of copper water pipes the ratio now is often in the area of 14:1.
Doing hair analysis we constantly find that people are high in copper and low in zinc. This may depend upon the area from which their water comes, as some
water is more acidic than others. It also depends on use of the pill or other exogenous hormones which increases the retention of copper.
When the pregnancy gets into the third trimester the zinc starts to pack in to the placenta. This strengthens the placenta and increases the growth of the baby.
Then the ratio of the copper rises in the blood. When the ratio of copper over zinc gets to a certain level this triggers labour as copper is a brain stimulant.
The level of copper is also raised by the contraceptive pill which encourages the body to retain copper and excrete zinc.
The frequent scenario of there being too much copper in the tap water, and the use of the contraceptive pill, has tended to make women zinc deficient.
This can also induce infertility. However, if it is less severe, a pregnancy can start and if it is not miscarried, this can lead to premature birth.
It is often quite hard to get a low zinc level to rise where there is a high copper, but we try to reduce the copper with a cleansing supplement and give
zinc supplementation with manganese and B6 which enhances absorption. We also can give zinc to put in the bath, and a zinc cream, as skin absorption can help.
A lot of babies are born prematurely after conventional fertility treatments as the copper/zinc ratio is not normalized in advance. 45,000 babies are born early
in the UK (about 1 in 15). 4,500 of these are permanently disabled.
Other causes of prematurity can be general nutrient deficiency, genito-urinary infection, alcohol, smoking, intestinal parasites, heavy metals, electromagnetism,
toxic chemicals generally, as well as “stress” (exhaustion) and probably ultrasound scans. The full Foresight programme covers all of these areas so that you can
start the pregnancy with confidence.
The only premature Foresight baby recently was subjected to an ultrasound scan once a week throughout his very short pregnancy.
We have only had a handful of premature births in Foresight babies, two of which were due to car accidents, and one to an attack by an Alsation.
If you read our book “Beautiful Babies, Fabulous Families, Wonderful World”, and if you delve further into this website, what you can do will become clearer.
You can always ring us at Foresight for further information if you wish, we are here to help.
