Dyslexia

Dyslexia was first diagnosed in about 1963 and can be part of the syndrome known as MBD “minimal brain dysfunction” often thought to be the direct result of too little oxygen at birth causing the death of some brain cells.

For the child itself and for the family, it is anything but “minimal”, as the disrupted mental function can be quite profound especially if there is an aspect of hyperactivity.

Dr. Ellen Grant, in a study done in co-operation with Biolab found an undeniable link with Zinc deficiency.

This was the mineral tested at the time, as testing a key mineral in isolation to get a very clear-cut result is the best way for the work to be published, as this study was, in the Lancet. Unfortunately little seems to have come of this. If, for the last 45 years all dyslexic children could have been treated with Zinc, what a different scenario we would have had by now.

Along with Zinc deficiency there will be deficiencies of a number of other minerals and vitamins. For a deficiency to do irreparable damage there has to be a severe shortage.

This will have been caused by circumstances before the child’s conception/ birth, such as poor food, heavy metals, high copper from water pipes, food additives, pesticides, smoking, alcohol, the contraceptive pill, perhaps infections, stress, electromagnetic pollution, and so on – all the usual problems.

Circumstances after his/her conception could include a difficult birth, and problems caused by vaccinations/immunizations. These latter introduce things into the child’s bloodstream that squander Zinc.

Dr. Viera Schriebner is convinced, having made a lifetime’s study of the subject, that the vaccinations have had a lot to do with brain damage. (See Section on Vaccination and one on Autism and ADHD).

The full Foresight programme is the best way to prevent dyslexia, and is well worth doing, even if there are no fertility problems, if you have dyslexia in the family.

At Foresight, we can do a hair analysis and a programme for children with problems from mild dyslexia through to autism. In many cases this is found to give help, although if the main deficiencies were present before birth, the problems may not be entirely reversible.
