Arthritis

We don’t see a lot of people with arthritis as our couples are mainly under 45 years of age. Also possibly, because many people with severe arthritis would think the demands of parenthood too onerous. However, it does crop up. Also among grand-parents we are often asked to help as well! We gather it is mainly due to the lining of the joint wearing thin and to crystals forming in the joint.

The cartilage of the lining of the joints needs a lot of Zinc and Manganese, and we usually note these are short in the hair analyses of people suffering from arthritis. Usually magnesium, (which takes the calcium to where it should be in the body) is also short.

There are often high levels of any of the toxic metals – particularly lead.

This would all be corrected on the Foresight programme and the essential oils and necessary vitamins given. Nicotinamide (Vitamin B3) is found to be particularly helpful with joint pain. This may be because it relaxes the little capillaries and so brings extra blood to the area facilitating cleansing. As we know it is also clears the liver and is known to remove the organophosphate pesticides from the body. It begs the question as to whether, in some cases, the pesticides may exacerbate joint pain. Certainly in the pre-pesticide era, arthritis used to be a disease of old age. Now, we do see it appearing in the thirty to forty year age range and also in children.

I have known two people who made curtains and loose covers for a living have had to retire early due to terrible arthritis in their hands. This is since the materials were treated with organophosphate pesticides (OPs) for moth-proofing, flame-retarding etc.

I suppose one reason may be that the OPS are known to prevent the uptake of Manganese and Manganese is essential for the joint linings.

Allergy certainly gets involved with arthritis. My Yorkshire Branch Secretary, who is very informative on allergy, has found eliminating gluten-grains, milk and citrus fruits to answer with a lot of people. It may be only one of these with some people. It would be worth eliminating all of them until the condition subsides and then testing very small amounts to see if that particular allergen was relevant to you. (See Section on Allergy regarding substitute foods, re-introduction etc.) See also “Find Out” and “Watch It”.

I have found leaving out alcohol particularly helpful.

Hot baths, or just hot flannels or hot water bottles held next to the skin can be helpful as can rubbing the area to bring more blood to the scene. (This has the merit of being cost-free!)

I rub in the homeopathic ointment ”Rhus Tox with Rhu” which is anti-inflammatory to calm things down. Aloe Vera gel is an excellent lubricant and soother. As a system, rubbing in Rhus Tox at night and Aloe Vera in the morning is the best answer I know.

As with all natural approaches, if you try it all the solution is much quicker.

Unless it is really unbearable I would avoid using pain-killers as they make the liver have to work harder, and the liver may be quite put upon already with toxic metals, alcohol, organophosphates etc.

It all makes us wonder if the joints were not made very durable in the first place? Whether there was some shortfall at the time of production?

Was the arthritic mother short of needed minerals, a bit too high in lead etc. Not able to use her Zinc due to lack of Vitamin A?

Anyway, it is important to remember, from the babies point of view, a baby needs this sorted before conception so that the condition will not “run in the family”. (I suspect so many so-called “inherited tendencies” are just inherited deficiencies/toxicities).

Also, from the mother’s point of view, the added weight of the pregnant uterus will be more pressure on the already complaining hip or knee joint. Not a good career move. Also, babies don’t stay babies, and toddlers need a lot of chasing after! Be prepared!

People of all ages with arthritis have found all of this helpful.

If any of you “out there” have other effective “wheezes” let us know. Every little helps.
